Throughout my life, I struggled with believing that I was never good enough. It was hard to see and feel positivity when I was constantly criticized and critiqued for how I looked, how I talked, and for any difference I had from the "norm."
When I was younger, I was bullied and was told by numerous people that I would not amount to anything. I grew up with a negative attitude but deep inside yearned for others to provide comfort and worthiness. I did not understand why things were, "always happening to me," and why I did not feel happy. In 2014, my Self-Love journey began by making a conscious choice to heal. After the end of a long-term relationship, I was depressed. I knew at that point that I could choose one of two things: sit in the emptiness or recreate my life. I had to release any expectation(s) of how long this process would take and what would unfold.
I dug deep and unlocked the doors that have been chained for years to protect me from the pain. In hindsight, it was difficult, but it was the best decision that I had made for my life. I am thankful for the help from my Therapist and my Coaches who were the guides to my internal discovery and helped me to realize that everything I needed already existed within me. I reached new depths and what revealed is true ownership of who I am, which allowed me to pursue my dream of opening my coaching practice.
Professional Experience
I have worked in the Nursing Profession for over a decade and continue to deepen my practice. I started as a Registered Nurse working at the bedside, then became a Clinical Instructor teaching students how to provide great care to those in need. I knew I wanted to learn more and went back to school and became a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
The journey did not stop there and I became a Board-Certified Integrative Nurse Coach, as well as Certified in Angelic Reiki to further expand my capabilities of providing a holistic approach. Fun Facts
I am a native San Franciscan.
Outside of my coaching practice I love to dance and am a hip-hop dancer at heart.
As a Nurse I was known as the Hip-Hop Nurse because you would find me randomly free styling or sharing my passion of dance with others.
Quality time is my primary love language and I enjoy spending time with my Partner, Step-son, Family, and Friends.
Why is self-work important?
“Nurse Coaching is grounded in the principles and core values of professional nursing. Nurse Coaches speak both the language of Medicine and Healing.” - International Nurse Coach Association
Our current healthcare system has multiple ways of healing but has it truly been used to its greatest potential? What I see in our system is chronic health struggles that result in multiple office visits, the continuous use of prescription pills, invasive procedures, scans and tests, which sometimes hardly improves the problem. To truly heal is to become clear of the "why?" the origin, the root cause: "where did things actually begin?"
By healing and finding peace from past experiences or traumas that have affected the way they currently live their life, I empower my Clients to be clear and live the life they truly envision for themselves.
I have found through my practice that working with Clients one-to-one is highly effective by providing an experience that is truly unique to the Client where they are seen and heard.
